Marina Diamandis (pronounced dee-a-man-dee) born 10 October 1985, better known by her stage name Marina and the Diamonds, is a Welsh singer-songwriter of Greek descent. She rose to fame after reaching number two on the BBC Sound of 2010 poll list. After releasing one private extended play (Mermaid Vs Sailor), she released her second extended play, The Crown Jewels EP, with help from Neon Gold Records in 2009. Now signed to 679 Recordings, she released her debut full-length studio album debuting at 5 in the official UK charts, The Family Jewels, followed by her third extended play, The American Jewels EP, in 2010.

This is interesting for all you European Diamonds out there, specifically German Diamonds. Marina is performing at the next MySpace secret show in Hannover on December 5th. All you have to do to be a part of this is text “MARINA” to 77222 and you will quickly receive a reply from them. This text is your free ticket to the show so don’t delete it as you will need to show it to get in. The doors open at 7:30pm and the first 600 people will be let in so just because you get a text this does not guarantee you entry.
Marina is almost half way through her European leg of the Burger Queen Tour and tonight she is set to perform a sold-out show at Tavastia in Finland. Ever the hard working girl, she popped into Studio B this afternoon and performed 2 of her singles, Oh No and I Am Not A Robot.     Related Links
