The massive earthquake and resulting tsunami that struck Japan on the 11th of March have caused widespread destruction and suffering, relayed on television screens around the world.
More than 8,000 people have died in the disaster, thousands are injured and at least 12,000 are missing. Many people are living in evacuation centres as 14,000 homes have been destroyed and around 100,000 are damaged.
The costs of the relief effort, and of rebuilding the homes and lives of those affected, will be immense. Donations to the British Red Cross will be used towards helping the Japanese people recover from this devastating natural disaster over the coming months and years.

Marina and the Diamonds is auctioning some of her favourite items from her tour wardrobe to raise money to aid The Red Cross in their relief efforts in Japan.

The first item up for auction is Marina’s silver jumpsuit that she wore on her first British magazine cover. The magazine it is featured on is Company & was released in May 2010. Click here to bid on this.

The second item up for auction is Marina’s famous bunny cape she wore a lot in 2010. This was featured in one of her photoshoots with Rankin as well as being part of her tour wardrobe with NME. Any fan will tell you that Marina has a love for cheerleading/baseball jackets so her third auction means a lot. She has listed a vintage jacket that was used in some of her first Marina And The Diamonds promotional pictures as well a tour piece & being featured in a photoshoot by Rick Morris Pushinsky for Fly magazine. Last night just after 10pm Marina was caught by the paparazzi leaving Harrods in London. She was wearing a dark green coat, a daisy chain headband and some bright multi-coloured heels. Her friend & designer Hasan Hejazi tweeted about her wearing one of his outfits.

Yesterday afternoon the paparazzi caught Marina leaving Percy & Reed hairdressers after getting a little trim & colour in her hair. She opted for a lighter colour like she had back in 2008 compared to her well known dark brown/black hair she has had for the last 2 years.

The dress Marina is wearing is also the dress she wore to the Glammy Awards last week, designed by Hayley Scanlan. She posted on her blog about the pictures and also mentioned she has some material left to make some more for anyone interested.

Designer / friend of Marina’s, Hayley Scanlan recently updated her official website with a blog about Marina. She mentions Marina wearing her dress at the Glammy Awards last week and even better she says she is designing outfits for when Marina joins Katy Perry on The California Dreams Tour this summer. The new Bupa advert now on TV is using a song we will all be familiar with. They have borrowed Marina‘s critically acclaimed and beautiful song I Am Not A Robot but have changed a few lyrics & have a gospel choir singing it. I can’t help but feel it would of been even better if they used Marina’s version but it is great nonetheless. Watch it via YouTube above.

Last night Clare Maguire had a secret gig in London that she had advertised the previous days on twitter. The gig turned out to be in the Soho area and not only did our very own Marina turn up but Ellie Goulding showed up too. Marina was wearing a suede black skirt with a white shirt and her customized leather jacket. She also had on her black Chanel pumps as well as the multicoloured bow we have seen recently.

The three of them took pictures together inside at the gig and they are definitely something you need to see if you are a fan of them like I am. After the gig, Marina & Clare were caught by the paparazzi rushing off together and jumping into a taxi.
